Getting much closer now.  I (gasp) dropped the border!

  1. Gotta say this is getting closer! I love full bleed photo cards.

  2. Thanks! I'm feeling 95% confident that this is the one! I'm very proud of it. Maybe 7 hours of work or so went into it, and I finally got that good vibe that I always get when it's time for production. It was fun sharing all the prelim designs on the site.

  3. I think it compares favorably to Topps 2011.

  4. This design is top notch. I think one of the ONLY things that I would change would be to warp the player name text layer to match the curve behind it. It appears that you've done that on the top portion of the card for the team name. It'll definitely help with continuity.

Now I've just gotta work on my own base set!

  5. The best thing about cards of yore was the boarder. I mean that's how we were able to immediately identify what year the card was from. I miss creative boarders, personally I liked the one with the stars. Just my 2 cents.

  6. That is a really cool perspective. I agree about the borders. Sometimes what happens for me is that certain design elements start to brim to the top. I loved the border and stars and tried so hard to make them work with the final copy. But in the end I felt like I was going in two different directions, and I couldn't find a happy place for the stars.

  7. Why aren't you doing this for Topps? Seriously, it's darn good.
