Tribute cards pay homage to the best baseball card sets of all time. It's a way for me to celebrate the old (and sometimes new) designs, keeping them fresh with today's players.
How does it work? Well, I start by finding a set that I like. From there, I get a high quality scan of an existing card. Then, I take that scan and break the card apart into Photoshop layers. At that point, I create a new baseball card that has never existed!Sometimes I put today's players on yesterday's cards. For instance, here you can see the 1952 Topps design with Brad Hawpe, and below that, the 1994 Fleer design with Felix Hernandez.
Sometimes I put yesterday's players on today's cards. Two of my favorites are the 2007 Goudey Curtis Pride card and 2004 Topps Bill Buckner card.I hope you enjoy this walk through baseball card history.
