Royals All Stars

Congrats to Soria on an excellent season so far!  It will be the second All-Star appearance for Joakim.

David DeJesus has quietly had an excellent season as well.

Despite the win/loss record, Zack Greinke is 10th among AL starters in xFIP and 9th among AL starters in WPA.  So he had a case as well.

Billy Butler is also having a fine triple slash season, but the GIDP does really hurt him.  Nothing to hang your head about though!

Down in AAA, Kila and Gordon will be representing Omaha.  I believe Moose and Hos represent the Royals at AA.

  1. I wish that we had some All Star"S". Does John Buck count?

I really like the two leaf cards. The powder blue really goes well with the border.

  2. Good to see Gordon getting some recognition. I think if they could do it over again they would not have rushed him. I was talking to someone at a barbecue over the 4th and they were saying how every team should wait until a player is 25 until they call that player up. I tried to argue with cases like Heyward, but he even said would you rather have Heyward from 25-32 or 20-27. It's a decent point.

  3. My wife saw a sign a year or two ago that said "John Buck is in my Hall of Fame." We thought that was awesome.

Speaking of Buck, I took a John Buck plaque to Spring Training last year in hopes of getting it signed. No such luck!

Glad you like the Leaf cards!

  4. Totally agree on Gordon. And interesting theory on the age 25 thing. Maybe that explains Kila Ka'aihue!

  5. Do the Red Sox have any players like that?
