Tribute to 1987 Fleer: Yovani Gallardo



I think this set has held up pretty well. It's sort of like a tame, retro version of 1992 Score.

I don't have very many (if any?) of these cards, but I really like them.

Yovani Gallardo is a player I like to root for. I think he's getting to be a little overhyped by some, but I think he can have a nice season in 2009.

    First off, I love 1987 Fleer.

    Second, Overhyped!? 8.52 K/9, 2.59 BB/9, 3.25 K/BB, 3.02 ERA, 0.96 WHIP!!!

    OK, he's not the next Tim Lincecum or anything, but he's gonna get some CY Young votes this year. Mark it!

    Admittedly I'm a huge Gallardo fan. I think the overhype is more or less from the Buster Olneys of the world, guys like that who (at least I seem to think) were calling for him to WIN the Cy Young award this year. I'm not that bold about it. But I'm definitely on board with him getting some Cy votes this year.

    But if he did I'd definitely be happy.
