New York Originals!

Brett Gardner, New York Yankees
by Will Mattis

Brett is a a decent little OBP guy who can steal a bit. But the Yankees have other priorities and seem to favor Melky Cabrera as their center field option over Brett. (Edit -- not anymore!) This strikes me as interesting. Melky seems like the textbook definition of low ceilling, replacement-level player.

Austin Jackson, New York Yankees
by Will Mattis

I love poses like this. I really do. It just seems like this should be his rookie card or something. Great work, Will.

Andy Pettitte, New York Yankees
by Will Mattis

In many ways, as much a face of the Yankees as Derek Jeter is. I really like the "coiled snake" look of his arms here.

Alfredo Aceves, New York Yankees
by Will Mattis

One of the many arms you saw last year in New York that you'll probably only see in Scranton this year.

A.J. Burnett, New York Yankees

Carlos Beltran, New York Mets

Still an excellent player. His defense and baserunning really set him apart from other hitters of his calliber.

Brian Stokes, New York Mets
by Paul's Random Stuff

It's remarkable how similar he looks...

Bobby Parnell, New York Mets
by Paul's Random Stuff

...to Bobby Parnell! Other than the glove hand side, their mechanics (and looks) are remarkably similar in these two pictures.

Brian Schneider, New York Mets
by Paul's Random Stuff

I like the angle of this photograph a lot. Very cool find, Paul.

Brandon Knight, New York Mets

I like the "NY" logo on the mound. How many other teams do this too? I guess I've never noticed it before!

Thanks Will and Paul! Great cards!

  3. Oh no! And I almost didn't start him for fear of Texas.

Bad day against a good lineup, or are we really looking at Dave Bush with a Cy Young Award?

Silver lining -- 5:1 K/BB...yeah, keep telling yourself that Dave...:D
