Arizona! Goose Joak Originals
Today we've got some great cards by Randy Beck, who's doing the Arizona Diamondbacks. I think you'll really enjoy these.
Miguel Montero, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
Heck yeah! This sight sure looks familiar. One of the best autograph-seeking pictures I have seen in a long time.
Esmerling Vasquez, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
What an awesome name. Neat card too.
Yusmeiro Petit, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
Quite an interesting sleeper this year. There's talk of using him in the bullpen and as a swing man, so he has the potential to be a nice spot starter for fantasy squads.
Tony Pena, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
Not to be confused with Tony Pena, Jr., of course.
Tony Clark, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
Once a pretty prodigious power hitter. Now he's Arizona's version of Willie McGee or Julio Franco.
Tom Gordon, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
I never imagined Tom Gordon would still be around in 2009. The guy has pitched for twenty years! Can you believe it? He's even a two time All-Star.
Scott Schoeneweis, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
Mark Reynolds, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
Quite a bit like Adam Dunn except that he isn't quite as patient at the plate and doesn't have quite as much power.
Juan Gutierrez, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
Eric Byrnes, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
Although he's regarded as a bit of a showboat in the field, I've seen Byrnes make some truly great defensive plays, including one ridiculous play as a left fielder for the Oakland A's a few years ago. I wish MLB.com still had the video of it. He ran about five miles for the ball, full speed, and just absolutely laid out to catch a ball in foul territory (and we know how big Oakland's foul ground is). It was one of the most striking defensive plays I have ever seen.
Doug Slaten, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
Doug Davis, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
Regarded as a fantasy baseball sleeper some years ago. Now he's Arizona's version of Jeff Suppan (which isn't too horrible of a thing to be).
Dan Haren, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
Had a great 2006, basically replicated it in 2007 (but with phantom gains in ERA and WHIP), then took it to another level with Arizona last year. A very legitimate pitcher with sound mechanics and approach.
Conor Jackson, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
Billy Butler?
Chad Tracy, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
Always has struck me as the NL's version of Aubrey Huff for some reason. Maybe it's just the goatee. Perhaps a more appropriate comp would be Hank Blalock (1B/3B, can't stay healthy).
Chad Qualls, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
Cesar Valdez, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
Billy Buckner, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
Augie Ojeda, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
Alex Romero, Arizona Diamondbacks
by Randy Beck
Awesome cards by Randy. Really great work!

Awesome cards by Randy. Really great work!
The Valdez is a lot of fun. Montero also has a very interesting shot. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteThe Byrnes card my be a foreshadow for his 2009 season.
ReplyDeleteI love the Ojeda, circus act card!
The Miguel Montero card really captures what spring training is all about.
Great work on these.
